The Shediac Bay Watershed Association wishes to thank the 32 volunteers who participated in our SPRING CLEANUP community event that took place Saturday. Five teams picked up more than 100 bags of garbage on 34 km of roads in the region. We also want to thank the Kent Regional Service Commission, Notre Centre in Grande-Digue and the Shediac COOP for their support and contributions.

A citizens’ committee met in the spring to launch the initiative. They asked us to help organize the event, which we gladly accepted.

This type of community project fits perfectly with the priorities of the Association. Waste, especially plastic, eventually makes its way in waterways and in the bay, which has negative effects on animals and fish.
