Last week we planted over 250 marram grass plugs at Belliveau Beach! These plants play a vital role in dune stabilization and erosion prevention through their system of roots and rhizomes. This underground network helps hold the sand in place to create the dunes, and to make them more resilient to storms.
Many thanks to Vision H2O for helping us with seed collection and preparation, the Vienneau Farm for growing the marram grass, the landowners for their help and support, and the two volunteers who helped us plant!
